Industrial automation day builds on long tradition of such conferences and user meetings. End of May or beginning of June usually brings hot sunny days, but the weather was cold with heavy rain this year. Local floods even complicated traveling for some attenders, still the amount of participants was quite high. Such meeting allows us to discuss with our customers for longer time compared to fairs and other exhibitions. We tried not to bore our customers with marketing slide-shows, but to inform them about forthcoming technologies, which they can use in their work.

The key topic of this year seminars was machine vision and visual inspection. This is quite interesting and varied field, but it also significantly grows year to year. Visual inspection systems are more and more common in industrial automation. This is why more and more people are interested in this field. We demonstrated numerous examples how to use machine vision in real applications during the meeting. We user proven scenario, during which one the topic is presented by two experts—one focuses to handling the software and hardware, the second one describes and explains to the public.

We also introduced new derivative of Control Web Express software package and new DataLab IO/ETH device with Ethernet interface in addition to DataCam cameras, DataLight lights and VisionLab visual analysis software.

Control Web continuously grows and enhances, so it become very powerful and widely used software package for building industrial automation applications. Its Control Web Express edition is available for very small amount of money. It was created to fulfill the needs of customers, who create very cheap systems incorporating PC control of some simple technology process.

DataLab IO/ETH device can be used as simply as DataLab IO with USB interface, but thanks to communication over Ethernet, its distance from host PC can be practically unlimited.
