The new Laboratory of Integrated Automation (LABI) was opened on May 23rd, 2006 at the Tomas Bata University in Zlin. The modern laboratory contains educational experiments, which are accessible not only locally, but also remotely using standard WWW browsers. LABI is intended to be used mainly by students and teachers of industrial automation as well as applied informatics. All experiments can be run and monitored from any place with Internet connection. Control Web plays a key role in the whole system—it controls all PLCs and other devices involved into individual experiments, provides HTTP connectivity, handles database access etc. |
LABI was created as a part of the Faculty of Applied Informatics and the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Tomas Bata University. Our company focuses to the development of software tools for industrial and laboratory automation for more than 15 years. Our key product Control Web continuously keeps the high technology standards. It is used in many companies and also number of installations works in development, research and school laboratories. Compared to traditional SCADA systems, Control Web does not limit the expression means to simple process visualization. The cooperation among our company and various high schools and universities is traditionally very good. The majority of our software is provided to schools for free. Thousands of licenses were given to schools in our history, beginning with our first process control software system Control Panel. The number of free installations of the latest version Control Web 5 reached 1,500, which represents value of 25 millions CZK. We are very pleased that our company, based in Zlin, could participate on the development of the LABI at Tomas Bata University, also based in Zlin. The Control Web demonstrates its ability to work as a software glue, communicating with industrial automation devices on one the side and providing access from the Internet on the other side. We would like to thank to Mr. Hruška for a cooperation and we are glad we can support the Tomas Bata University in Zlin. rc@mii.cz |
